Teardown, Paper Cutting, Stacking Helper
Alamo Transformer Supply Company (ATSCO) is a Texas owned and operated company started in 1963. ATSCO is strategically positioned with two locations, San Antonio and Houston. The San Antonio facility focuses on the Distribution Transformer repair, rewinding and material recycling. The Houston facility focuses on the large power system repairs. The two locations allow ATSCO to service both utility/coops and the Industrial/petrochemical customer's needs. This posting is for the San Antonio facility located near Rittiman Road and I35.
Job Summary
We are looking for a technician to cut paper insulation to the correct sizes needed for the work order, and to tear down units for repair, in an open shop environment. This position is on the floor of the shop and requires standing for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled shop environment (can get very warm or cold, depending on outside conditions). The shop environment can be loud, dirty and subject to temperature extremes based on outside weather conditions (fans and heaters are available)
Shift hours and days are: Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. One-hour lunch (11am-12pm) and one fifteen-minute scheduled afternoon break. Occasional Saturday overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review work order documents and: create correct sized paper pieces for transformer repair, assist team loading or offloading transformers, sheet metal stacking, shop maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned.
Training for position will be provided. Hourly rate $16.00+.
Requirements / Skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Familiar working with air tools is a plus
- Ability to use measuring equipment (i.e. tape measure)
- Ability to understand and carry out work orders
- Adhere to and follow ATSCO safety standards and rules
- Steel toed shoes are required and not furnished by ATSCO
- Experience working in a mechanical field is desired
